Important: Examination Centre Allocation
Examination centres will be confirmed and communicated to registered participants.
Participants will be accommodated through the walk-in arrangement. Advance examination-centre confirmation will not be available.
Registration Tracks & Fees

Track 1 – Regular Track
Applicable to students whose medium of school education is English and who do not qualify for the Access Track.

Track 2 – Access Track
Applicable to students who meet any one of the following criteria:
- Regional Language Medium Students – students whose medium of school education is an Indian regional language, where non-language subjects are taught in that regional language.
- English Medium Students from Lower-Income Families – students whose medium of school education is English and whose annual family income is less than INR 6 lakh.
- Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) – students currently enrolled in a JNV.

Mandatory Documents:
- Regional Language Medium Students: Official School Bonafide Certificate verifying the regional-language medium of instruction, and a valid Student ID Card.
- English Medium Students with annual family income below INR 6 lakh: Valid Student ID Card or school identity proof, and a valid income certificate/documentary proof establishing annual family income of less than INR 6 lakh.
- JNV Students: Valid JNV Student ID Card, and a School Bonafide Certificate confirming current enrollment, if required.
Maximum File Size: Each uploaded document must not exceed 2 MB.
Track 3 – Group Registration
Schools may register students as a group for the PLO examination. Group registrations are eligible for discounted registration fees:
- A minimum of 10 participants is required to qualify for group registration.
- Group discounts are applied only to the base registration fee (GST will be charged additionally as applicable).
- Group registrations must be completed through a single consolidated payment and participant list.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.

Registration steps
- Open the registration and payment page.
- Complete the required student and school details.
- Select the appropriate registration track (Regular / Access / Group) based on your eligibility.
- Upload the mandatory supporting documents for your selected track.
- Complete the applicable registration fee payment and submit the registration.

Selection Criteria
The national team selection follows the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) transparency and accreditation regulations.
- Round 1 — 29 November 2026. Round 1 is open to all registered candidates. The top qualifying students from Round 1 will be invited to participate in Round 2.
- Round 2 and Team Selection. Top performers from Round 2 will be evaluated, and the top 4 students will be selected to represent the country as Team India 1 at the IOL. A second team may participate at their own expense if the local arrangements allow it, at the discretion of the Local Organising Committee.
Transparency Regarding Fees and Travel Costs
National Round Fees. The registration fee charged covers the basic administrative and operational expenses of conducting the national selection rounds.
IOL Participation and Travel Costs. Depending on available sponsorship and organizational funding, efforts will be made to cover or subsidize participation costs for Team India 1. Please note that sponsorship or funding cannot be guaranteed. If Team India 2 is selected, all expenditures must be borne directly by the individual participants, including official IOL registration fees, visa processing fees, international travel and flight tickets, and other associated travel and participation expenses.
