45.WX-ROMAN ALPHABETIC CODING SCHEME FOR INDIAN LANGUAGES (NEXT-CHAPTER PREV-CHAPTER CONTENTS)

(for understanding without any graphic display)

Our Roman alphabetic coding scheme for the Indian alphabet is
given below. The characters are given in order of their appearance
in the alphabet, so they can be understood even without anyway to
view them. Some comments are given below the characters in brackets.
(This notation is given in the appendix of our book "NLP: A Paninian
Perspective", Akshar Bharati, Vineet Chaitanya, and Rajeev Sangal,
Prentice-Hall of India, 1995. It can also be found in Narayana's
thesis on anusaaraka.)

eV, oV refer to Telugu characters, and lY refer to a Marathi character
and can be ignored normally while working with Hindi data.
