42.KEYBOARD SCHEME FOR INDIAN LANGUAGES (NEXT-CHAPTER PREV-CHAPTER CONTENTS)

                    (wx-syllabic scheme)

This scheme is similar to the Roman wx-alphabetic coding for Indian
languages. It uses a single character to denote a consonent with 'a' 
vowel, rather than the pure consonent. This has been done to
reduce the number of keystrokes. The halant character is given by '_'.
 
Below each Roman character sequence in the table below, there is an
ISCII-8 bit code, which if displayed using GIST terminal etc. will
show up as a varna (character) in the Indian language.
