IASNLP 2026

14th IIIT Advanced Summer School on Natural Language Processing

12th - 27th June 2026
LTRC, IIIT Hyderabad

About

LTRC, IIIT-H announces the 14th edition of Summer School Series, IASNLP 2026, an opportunity for those passionate about advancing their knowledge in Speech Large Language Models (Speech LLMs).

Speech LLMs represent the evolution of AI systems that unify speech and language understanding within a single framework. Unlike traditional pipelines that separate Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Text-to-Speech (TTS), Speech LLMs aim to process and generate spoken language end-to-end.

These models combine advances in large language models, self-supervised speech representations, and multimodal learning to enable systems that can listen, reason, and respond directly in speech. Applications include conversational AI, speech-to-speech translation, voice assistants, and accessibility technologies.

Programme

This summer school is designed to provide a strong foundation in speech and language technologies, with a focus on Speech Large Language Models (Speech LLMs). The programme combines expert lectures, hands-on sessions, and guided projects to bridge fundamental concepts with current research trends.

Participants will gain both theoretical understanding and practical experience in building speech-enabled AI systems, working closely with mentors and engaging with real-world problems in speech and language processing.

Objectives:
