Address by senior women scientists
Through this track, we will invite senior women scientists working in the field of NLP to present a short description of their research projects. Each speaker will be given a 20 minute slot to outline their research interests, vision and experiences as women NLP researchers in India.
Data from regional chapters of ICON will be released, and a region-wise estimate of women active in NLP/regional languages will be procured. Procedure to develop data and NLP tools for understudied languages will be designed, and women researchers will be encouraged to initiate computational studies in resource-poor languages.
As a final event of the workshop, a set of invited panelists will be asked to engage in open dialogue with the audience.
