Projects

  • Morphological Analysis

    1. Paradigm based Morphological Analyzer for new languages

      Manipuri
      Kashmiri

This project concentrates on developing paradigms to handle the morphology for Indian languages. This includes identifying the root and suffixes of respective languages. After developing the paradigms, one would experiment with the currently available paradigm based morphological analyzer(s) and evaluate its coverage (paradigms subsequently developed as part of this summer school) at the end of this project.

    2. Semi-supervised Morphological Analysis by using a Rule-based system as a seed

The goal of this project is to improve a Hindi rule-based morphological analyzer using a raw corpus. Rule-based morphological analyzers have a fairly low coverage. We would be trying to improve its coverage using a large Hindi corpus.
