Abstract: This talk aims to give an overview of Information Retrieval (IR) as well as Information Extraction (IE) technologies.
The underlying theme is connecting Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in building next generation IR and IE systems.
Two applications making use of IE techniques will be discussed.
